Matthew 1:22-23

The virgin birth of Jesus is a profound fulfillment of prophecy, as highlighted in Matthew’s Gospel. The angel reveals that all that has occurred aligns with the words spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” meaning “God with us.” This declaration reminds us that God’s plans are intricately woven throughout history, emphasizing His promise to be with us.

The title Immanuel signifies both the divinity of Jesus and His intimate connection with humanity. In coming to us as a baby, God embraced our humanity, demonstrating His love and desire to be near us. This miraculous conception is not merely a historical event; it is a powerful reminder that God is present in our lives, comforting and guiding us through every challenge we face.

As we reflect on Immanuel, we are encouraged to draw near to God, knowing He has made the first move to be with us. We don’t need intermediaries to approach Him; through Jesus, God has introduced Himself to each of us. Let us carry this truth in our hearts: the best of all is that God is with us, providing hope and strength in every moment.
